Nimisha Sharath is currently a masters student in the Interdisciplinary Data Sciences Program at the University of Washington, Seattle. She completed her Bachelors degree in Technology from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India. She worked for a year in the Big Data Labs within American Express solving interesting problems in the financial sector using Machine Learning. Previously, she has worked as a Hub Leader within her IEEE student chapter and helped organize the Grace Hopper Conference in India. She also contributed towards reducing the cost of home healthcare within the Canadian Healthcare Ministry as a research assistant at Concordia University Montreal, in 2014. She hopes to eventually work in the field of healthcare and leverage Artificial Intelligence to improve its status in her country.
