Nida Rizwan Farid

Aerospace Engineer and Energy Efficiency Consultant

Nida R. Farid, founder of Save Joules, a platform to help Pakistanis drastically reduce their energy bills, is an aerospace engineer and energy efficiency consultant. She has led projects for the Airbus A320, A330, A350XWB, A380 and Bombardier's CRJ aircraft. She has also worked extensively with wind farm development and management, energy policy and gas turbine combustion in North America, Europe and Asia.

Nida is passionate about spreading energy efficiency awareness in Pakistan and elsewhere. Her projects include SaveJoules.com, a comparison website of appliances based on energy consumption, Pakistan’s first comprehensive Energy Flow Diagram, energy efficiency awareness campaigns run through @SaveJoules, as well as energy audits for commercial and industrial customers.

Nida runs an engineering services consultancy, NRF Engineering, specializing in aerospace, energy and industrialization projects.

She has an SB in Aerospace Engineering from MIT and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich, specializing in aircraft engines and gas turbines.​
