WiDS Next Gen

WiDS Next Gen inspires secondary school students to consider careers involving data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and related fields. We particularly encourage young women and girls by showing examples of successful women who are having an impact in the field.

We also strive to impress on all students that there are already excellent women in technical roles related to data science, and that diversity and inclusion are extremely important.
We invite you to join us in introducing Data Science to students! We’ve designed materials that are suitable for secondary school educators in math, physical sciences, social sciences, computers and more.

New WiDS Next Gen Curriculum, Now Available

We're pleased to release four new data science lessons for secondary school students. These lessons can be used by secondary school teachers, student clubs, or WiDS ambassadors to engage students in discussion and activities to explore data science.

Data Days for Middle School Girls

Read about Data Days, a collaboration between Data2thepeople.org, New Haven Public Schools, and the Women in Data Science (WiDS) team at Stanford University. Featuring keynote speakers and hands-on workshops, Data Days created an inviting space for girls to learn about and explore data science as a career and area of study.
“I loved listening to the data scientist stories about how they got to be where they are and I loved how they
explained the importance of data science.”  --
