WiDS Datathon Workshops

Host a workshop to bring the WiDS Datathon 2023 to your cohort, colleagues, or community.

Why host a WiDS Datathon Workshop?

The WiDS Datathon is an opportunity to grow ​and develop communities of women interested in data science, and educate everyone on important data science skills in a supportive​ and fun environment. The WiDS Datathon is suitable for beginners through experts, with everyone able to get something valuable out of the experience.

​In 2022, over 40 WiDS Datathon workshops were held around the world. 

Datathon workshops support and facilitate:

* Networking for women entering or working in data-centric fields
* Building on-ramp into data science for beginners
* Building audience engagement for future WiDS regional events
* Building recognition for the mission and work of your organization
* Forming cross-organizational partnerships in your area
* Encouraging undergrad women to pursue graduate education and careers in data science

Easy step-by-step instructions and guidance about how to host a WiDS Datathon workshop including suggestions of how to format your workshop, find and train mentors, form teams, and promote your workshop.

WiDS Datathon resources, tutorials, videos, and access to mentors will be available to help guide your participants through the WiDS Datathon challenge.

Workshop Office Hours

Questions? Bring them to the WiDS Datathon Office Hours. You'll have the opportunity to do guided hands-on, interactive workshop planning, meet the datathon team and other workshop organizers. Office hours are held ~once a month.
